Enid Creative Collective is a group dedicated to promoting artistic community by creating projects that make use of media ranging from classical technique paintings to the written word. This blog will follow the progress of those projects.

Bread and Water

Anyone interested in submitting writing to Bread and Water, an up and coming literary journal in the Norman/OKC are should email them at bread.water.journal@gmail.com . They hope to start accepting art/photography and other media, but for now it's just poems and short shorts. I'll keep you posted. I'll be sending them an excerpt from my novel, so be on the lookout for that.

Facebook and Artist Meetings

ECC is now on Facebook! Look us up and become a fan. Any area artist who is interested in learning more about ECC or working with us should email us at enidcreativecollective@gmail.com, we have monthly artist meetings here at Scribner's Gallery and we'd love to see you there.

Keeping You in the Loop

The next piece for As Seen By Three is going to be...(drum roll) Whimsy! Sara, Shane and I will be working together to express our personal views of the emotion whimsy. Excerpts and pictures are soon to come. Meanwhile Loss is getting closer and closer to completion, and it's shaping up to be very exciting! Keep checking here to see it all take shape.
OkcCoCo, the Oklahoma City Coworking Collaborative, has asked for As Seen By Three to appear at their space sometime next year, the first organization to do so. The CoCo is an innovative new space designed for creative, entrepreneurial and technical minds to meet and work together and hopefully it will be just the first of many venues our show will be displayed in. Keep checking here for updates and new pictures of the work!

More progress on "Loss" by Sara Scribner

" There is a feeling, like the sensation when you can't quite shove the word on the tip of your tongue out through your teeth, that now plagued the man constantly. His every thought stumbled around like a toddler in a dark room full of sharp corners and the effort of maintaining that struggle was shredding the fabric of his mind. Anyone who has a typical level of mental agility would find this particular brand of suffering hard to comprehend. They possess the luxury of being able to remember where they left their keys or what color they painted their walls or what the wife who walked out on them a year ago used to order when she came to the coffee shop."

That's an excerpt from the piece I'm writing to depict Loss, in conjunction with Shane and Sara's paintings.

A collaborative project by Sara Scribner, Shane Scribner and Wesley Clark Young is in the works. As Seen By Three aims to express something meaningful about the human condition by exploring three different artists perspectives on universal emotions. Sara and Shane will be producing pieces of visual art while Wesley (Me!) writes a piece of short fiction to accompany each work. The show will open at the Scribner's personal gallery in Enid, Oklahoma with showings in other Oklahoma galleries pending. Updates, photos and excerpts will be available here!
